We live in a society where the culture of throw-away fashion has become the ‘norm’ and, in an ever changing world of fast fashion, our desire to keep up with trends results in millions of pounds worth of textiles being sent to landfill each year. My graduate project, ‘In Bloom’, is an interiors collection which tackles the issue of over-consumption and waste by encouraging consumers to support sustainable fashion.

My collection celebrates the beauty found in nature, particularly the seasonal change from lively blooms to gently cascading leaves, and reflects my values as a designer; to think, design and make ethically. The nature of this theme gives a heightened meaning to the reversible aspect of the products, conveying the idea of a constantly changing, ever evolving environment.
